Regular Washing of the Air Filter
The main function of the air filter is to filter impurities such as ,moisture, dust or small-sized granule from carburetor or cylinder and the main purpose of doing so is to protect the moving parts inside the filter.
If the air filter is not straightened out in time, apparently it won't affect the car function, for the car could still be start up and run. But as the dust and grunule accumulated gradually, filtration pore in the filter element will be blocked, which will influnce the air input and cause a power coastdown and an increase in oil wear. Sometimes small granule is absorbed into the engine, which will fray the moving parts more quickly and shorten the life-span of the machine.
Filter element should be washed using clear water and liquid detergent instead of gasoline. Then dry the filtration pore with compressed air or natural wind. Or filtration pore will be broadened and filtration clarity reduced. A little engine oil, if evenly sprayed on the filter element, would not only increase filtration clarity but also lubricate the moving parts that gas reaches( especially plunger piston in the carburetor).
If filtration pore is found broadened, change the filtration element with the same type as soon as possible. Or filtration clarity will be reduced and the moving parts frayed more quickly.
